Life in words

April 30, 2007

She bent forward, stood up. Held her hands in front of her mumbling something incomprehensible. Went down on her knees, bent forward and put her forehead to the ground. A soft mumble.
Sat up. Repeated the sequence.
Then sat there motionless. I could hear her soft voice mumbling words. I tried hard to listen to what she said but I couldn’t hear anything. I think she is still angry off with me and perhaps she was praying for my demise.
As I moved slightly, my leg made a sound and I could see her straighten her back. She got up, folded her carpet and took her robe off. Walked right past me and starting her descent down the stairs.
I watched her as she walked away from me, feeling a tinge of sadness in my heart.
